Biography
Nicole Rigoni is an Italian pianist and fortepianist specialized in historically informed performance.
She started playing the piano at the age of 10. A couple of years later she was admitted to the Conservatory of Vicenza where she graduated Cum Laude in 2024 under the guidance of Marco Tezza.
She is currently attending the Master’s program in Fortepiano at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague with Bart van Oort and Petra Somlai.

Nicole received awards in several national and international competitions such as the 1st prize at the IX International Piano Competition “Andrea Baldi” of Bologna, the 1st absolute prize at the International Competition “Rovere D’oro” of San Bartolomeo al Mare (IM), and the 2nd prize at the “Humberto Quagliata” International piano competition of San Giovanni Valdarno (AR).
For several years she ranked first among the pianists of the Vicenza Conservatory, this allowed her to perform as a soloist at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza and to represent the Conservatory in various competitions such as the “Premio Nazionale delle Arti”.
She participated in numerous Masterclasses with internationally renowned pianists such as Roberto Plano, Aleksandar Madžar, Irena Ravitskaya, Roberto Cappello, Svetozar Ivanov, Davud Kalhous and Wolfram Schmitt Leonardy.
She also participated in fortepiano masterclasses with Stefania Neonato, Leonardo Miucci and Alexander Melnikov.
Nicole is actively involved in several projects focused on German Lieder. Her research is particularly dedicated to Franz Schubert’s song production, and she is currently developing a Master’s thesis exploring the relationship between poetic texts and musical material in his works.

Together with the Soprano Madeleine Treilhou, she co-founded Les Vaguabondes Lied Duo, an ensemble devoted to the rediscovery and performance of Lieder repertoire, with a special focus on the songs of Fanny Hensel, among other composers.
Nicole is deeply committed to teaching and to sharing her knowledge with younger generations, with a particular focus on raising awareness of historically informed performance practices. She has several years of teaching experience in various private music schools, working with both school-age students and adult learners.
